Feet

Larger

I started this as a doodle--it was very difficult trying to draw these mis-shapen feet from memory. My grandmother would always talk about her feet hurting her with the phrase, "My puppies are barking."

Once I found a full length photo of her showing her feet, I used Photoshop to manipulate it. The close up doesn't really show how bad her feet were--I'm guessing this photo was probably taken in about 1949 at my parents' wedding. I scanned in my doodle.

I had intended to complete it in Painter IX, but it crashed on me and I haven't been able to restore the PAINTER.SET file yet (it's not on the original CD, I can't get it to use a version of this file from the Painter that came with the Wacom). I finished it up in Photoshop.

i really like your personal take on this topic. Ouch, though. Your poor grandmother. I rarely wear anything but flip flops or clogs (seasonal shoes), so when I do have to wear the pointy-toed heels, I marvel at how some women wear these all the time, even WORK in them! Nice illustration!
